Solo mast climbing system TOPCLIMBER® International manufactures this system in the Netherlands.

The TopClimber consists of two parts:
A. a sitting area and a standing area. Both parts are equipped with 2 clamping units and spacer holders.
B. The distance holders serve, in seaway conditions, to prevent swinging back and forth.

Through the clamping units and spacers, feed a 10 mm static core jacket line, which you attach and tension about 1 meter from the mast foot.

We recommend purchasing a 10 mm static/pre-stretched core jacket line the length of your mast + 2 meters, to which you attach the TopClimber. Secure the line 1 meter from the mast on the think and tighten it. If you want to use the TopClimber then hoist the line with a halyard and the TopClimber is ready for use.

This is how to use the TopClimber, the only solo mast climbing system

  1. You take a seat in the bosun's chair and climb up.
  2. You stand in the footstraps, which allows you to slide up the seat's clamping unit.
  3. You sit down again and now you can slide the clamping unit of the standing section upward.
  4. By repeating this motion over and over, you will climb the mast and so will you go down.
  5. Your own weight ensures that the clamping units have a firm grip on the line .
  6. Basically, you can never disconnect both terminal units.

Our advice: Practice with the TopClimber several times until you get the hang of it. In an emergency, you can then quickly enter the mast!
